Today, through our state-of-the-art Level One Trauma Center, cutting-edge specialty care units, and dedicated caregivers, the system is working at the forefront of medicine to address the overall needs of our patients and eliminate healthcare disparities. **_All Acute Care Adult Specialty units offer enhanced technology to assist with nursing care, including patient lifts, hands-free communication, virtual whiteboards, and telemetry monitoring capability._** **Join our Acute Care Adult Trauma Step Down Unit, 5 East!** _Primary Patient Population:_ + Trauma _Primary skills utilized/learned:_ + Vital Signs, cardiac monitoring, trauma care + Complex wound care & psychosocial care + Answering call lights and assisting patients as needed + Time management, critical thinking _Personnel RN will work with_ _:_ + LPNs, Registered Nurses, Nurse Interns, Providers, PT/OT, WOCN, Social Work _Number of beds on unit:_ + 34 beds (14 private rooms, 10 semi-private rooms) _Awards or Recognitions the unit has received:_ + Multi-time PRISM Award winner + Team Daisy Award Winner **MetroHealth offers industry-leading benefits, including tuition reimbursement, professional certification incentives, and medical/dental insurance. As a public employer, employees participate in the Ohio Public Employee Retirement System (OPERS).** Required Qualifications: + High School Diploma or passage of a high school equivalency exam. + Ability to work in a team environment while demonstrating good judgment, flexibility, initiative, and effectively problem-solving skills. + Current AHA Basic Life Support for the healthcare provider certification or obtained within 90 days of hire. Preferred Qualifications: + Registered in good standing as a State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) with the Ohio Department of Health (ODH) Nurse Aide Registry (NOTE: Maintaining ODH Registry status as a STNA is optional after employment in this position). + 1 year of experience as a Patient Care Nurse Assistant in a hospital.
