Job Title: Autonomous Vehicle Car Driver (Test Operator)
Job Type: Contract (12+ Months)
Location: Pittsburgh, PA
Work Location: On the road

Job Summary:
The Autonomous Vehicle Test Operator is responsible for operating and evaluating self-driving vehicles in autonomous mode, monitoring vehicle behaviour, collecting data, providing feedback, and offering ride-hail services to the general public while maintaining the highest safety standards.

Eligibility:

• Must be at least 21 years old
• Must hold a valid Driver’s License
• Must have 5+ years of professional driving experience

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate autonomous vehicles on defined and undefined routes under various environmental conditions
• Monitor vehicle behavior in autonomous mode and perform limited manual driving when required
• Conduct software monitoring, logging, and provide real-time verbal feedback on AV environment
• Test various aspects of autonomous vehicle systems
• Complete accurate and timely ride reports for operations and engineering teams
• Work assigned shifts including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and overnight shifts
• Maintain high safety standards inside and outside of the vehicle at all times

Necessary Skills:
Proficiency with laptops and Office apps (Gmail, Google Sheets, Google Docs); Proficiency using smartphones and handheld touchscreen devices; Strong attention to detail with the ability to clearly and concisely communicate observations.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to sit for long periods with occasional standing and walking
• Ability to climb stairs and/or ladders
• Occasional reaching, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 45 pounds occasionally
• Good close, distance, peripheral, and depth vision with focus adjustment
• Majority of work performed outdoors in a vehicle
